Diwali is a happy, festive time when people light lamps and dias, listen to Diwali songs and pray for good health, peace and wisdom. Diwali is also a time for fun, such as lighting fireworks, and for sharing gifts and sweets with family and friends.
During Diwali devotees offer prayers to Mother Lakshmi asking for good health, happiness and prosperity.
